Candida Albicans Test Kit
Background Information
Candida albicans is an opportunistic yeast and the most common fungal pathogen in the human body. It is frequently found in the gastrointestinal tract, oral cavity, and vaginal microbiota of approximately half of healthy adults. Under normal conditions, it exists as a harmless commensal organism and is part of the natural human microflora. However, certain factors can trigger overgrowth, including recent antibiotic use, compromised immune function, and metabolic disorders such as diabetes. Overproliferation can cause common infections such as urinary tract infections, genital yeast infections, oral thrush, and mucocutaneous candidiasis. In severe cases, when the organism spreads to the bloodstream or internal organs, it may lead to serious complications such as vision loss, osteomyelitis, bloodstream infections, endocarditis, meningitis, or peritonitis.
Product Description
The Candida albicans Hydrolysis Probe PCR Lyophilized Kit is designed for the qualitative detection of Candida albicans-specific DNA using a probe-based real-time PCR method. Intended for research use only and not for clinical diagnostics, this assay offers a rapid, sensitive, and reliable approach for identifying Candida albicans DNA. The kit contains an internal amplification control to detect possible PCR inhibition and verify sample quality. Included components are lyophilized Master Mix for target and control detection, a primer–probe mix, a positive control, and a negative control (nuclease-free water) to ensure assay integrity and reagent performance.
